Queen Anne's Lace Dish

Dainty yet durable, this porcelain dish is part of the Accelerated Fossils series. Lightweight and just the right size for rings, a spent tea bag, a spoon, an espresso. 

Salt-fired ware has seen upwards of 2300°F over a period of fifteen hours or so. Eighteen pounds of regular table salt are introduced to the kiln when it reaches about 2100°F, four pounds at a time. At this temperature, the salt vaporizes and coats every surface inside the kiln. It does amazing things to the clay, the glazes, and sets about destroying the kiln from the inside out.
